PROFILE OF BARR. NOSA IHAZA
Nosa Ihaza started his academic career by studying Diploma in Social Works from the University of Benin. While studying Social Works, he simultaneously enrolled at the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations where he was awarded a professional certificate in Public Relations as a certified public relations practitioner. He thereafter proceeded to study Law at the same University of Benin.
Having bagged his law degree, Nosa proceeded to the Nigerian Law School for further training, after which he was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
After working as a lawyer in Benin City for two years, he relocated to Lagos so as to expand his horizon in legal experience and practice. He thus gained robust experience in legal practice by working with some reputable law firms in Lagos. While working in a law firm, he was engaged by the media house of Biscon Communications (owned by Mr. Bisi Olatilo) as Head of HR and Legal. He was also the producer and presenter of PEOPLES COURT TV programme which was a live phone-in programme on the HI TV cable station. The programme was aimed at educating the general public on all aspects of the law. In 2009, he floated Wig & Gown Communications, which has today become the pace-setters in public legal education, engaged in legal seminars, trainings and publishing. The following year, 2010, he launched out into full entrepreneurship by setting up Skyline Solicitors, with office in Lagos. His law firm has a knack for commercial and corporate practice, and presently consults for several high net-worth individuals as well as blue-chip companies in Nigeria including leading banks and real estate companies.
As a facilitator of repute, Nosa handles Business Law both at the monthly Success, Business and Leadership School (SBLS) and also at The Entrepreneurship Academy (TEA). He also facilitates regularly at Enterprise Training and Resource Acquisition Centre (ETRAC) organized by Pertinence Ltd. Indeed, he is a much sought-after speaker on legal issues.
Nosa is Director of Studies at Superminds Schools and Skyline Academy, both in Lagos. He is also a Director and board member at Profitshoppers Ltd where he sets the strategy for, and oversees the Legal, Admin and Human Resources operations of the company. He was recently appointed as advisory board member of Lifepage Group to superintend the legal operations of the group. His firm has been consulting for Lifepage since 2012. He is also the legal adviser as well as member of the Board of Trustees of Truth of Calvary Ministries, while also being the Chairman, Board of Trustees of Adekunle Child Foundation.
Nosa is a prolific writer who has two published books to his credit, namely; 101 Legal Facts Every Landlord and Tenant Must Know; and Church and the Law: Avoiding Deadly Lawsuits in Ministry. Some of his unpublished works include: Legal Framework for Doing Business in Nigeria and Legal Approach to Prayers: Approaching the Court of Heaven.
Nosa is very passionate about God’s kingdom on earth. He is currently the Assistant Resident Pastor at The Empowerment Assembly (The Evening Church) at Ikeja, Lagos. He is married to Christy, an educationist and child-care practitioner. Their union is blessed with three lovely children – a boy, a girl, and yet another boy. They currently make their home in Lagos
